Drinking water: How can I encourage my cat to drink more water?

As animals develop, cats need less water than other animals, and it is often difficult for us to let cats do what we want. Cats with certain health problems, especially those with kidney failure and bladder infection, need to drink more water than normal cats. In order for your cat to drink more water, here are a few tips:

Increase the number of bowls of water

Put some water on your cat around the house. You can even put the water bowl in some unusual places. Cats seem to pay more attention to different things. How many times have we seen cats drinking water from a Christmas tree stand or bathtub when someone just took a shower?

Change the type of bowl

Different types of bowls - low, high, one wine glass, one large dog bowl. Again, if this is unusual, the cat can try it. Find bowls of different materials: clay pots, stainless steel, tempered glass.

Try tap water

Many cats, including one of me, refused to drink water. They prefer tap water. Some drinks come from a slow running faucet, but you don't want the faucet to run all day. Fortunately, there is a "Fountain Bowl" for your cat to provide 24 hours of tap water.

Seasoning with water

Try adding a can of water to the tuna in a bowl of water. This extra taste may attract some cats to drink.

Add water to food

Feed canned food and add water to the food as well. Canned food has a lot of moisture, so it will give your cat more water. However, if we add extra water to the food, we need to be careful. Some cats don't like foods that add water. If your cat does not, you need to try other options. We don't want your cat to stop eating!
